The following is a lesson plan for intermediate level English learners.
Stage 1: Students complete a questionnaire about how their ideal mates look like, dealing mainly with physical appearance features. The class, then, discusses their answers.
Stage 2: Students read a text about the most sought after characteristics by men and women when choosing husbands/wives.
Stage 3: Students answer comprehension questions about the text comparing how spouses are (would be) chosen by them to what they have read.
Stage 4: Students go back to the text, this time looking for words related to physical characteristics.
Stage 5: After sharing their results, students check which new words they have learned and separate them in positive and negative features.
Stage 6: Students write a text describing their ideal mates using the new words they have just learned.
